Jumping out of
the system
Building mobile AI experiences. Jootsing Research is an applied AI lab exploring how machines can improve users' lives every day.
What is Jootsing?
“Jootsing” — jumping out of the system — was coined by Douglas Hofstadter to describe the essential move of creative intelligence: stepping outside a system to observe it, then stepping back in to act with new understanding.
Recursive self-awareness is the key to building software that doesn't just execute commands, but truly comprehends context. Software that can observe its own actions, understand behavior, adapt accordingly — and is always with you.
“You can't break out of a system you don't know you're in.”
— Douglas Hofstadter
Why mobile?
The most personal computers are the ones in our pockets. We believe intelligence should meet people where they already are.
